Wheelchairs & WODs: A Powerful Night of Community and Inclusion

On May 14, our Wheelchairs & WODs event brought the community together for an unforgettable evening focused on fitness, awareness, and inclusion.

Hosted alongside CrossFit 302, the event was more than just a workout — it was a reminder of the strength that exists within every individual and the power of a community that chooses to support one another.

At  The CapABLE Foundation, our mission is to advocate for and empower individuals with disabilities through support, accessibility, education, and community outreach. Wheelchairs & WODs gave us an incredible opportunity to bring that mission to life in a hands-on and meaningful way.

Participants pushed themselves through challenging workouts, encouraged one another, and experienced firsthand the importance of perseverance and adaptability. The atmosphere throughout the event was uplifting, motivating, and filled with support from every corner of the gym.

As someone living with Friedreich’s Ataxia, events like this mean so much to me personally. Disability is often misunderstood, but Wheelchairs & WODs helped create conversations, awareness, and understanding in a way that was positive, empowering, and community-driven.

We are deeply thankful to everyone who participated, donated, volunteered, or helped spread the word about the event. Your support helps The CapABLE Foundation continue building opportunities and resources for individuals with disabilities throughout Texas.

A huge thank you goes out to CrossFit 302 for partnering with us and helping make this event possible. Their support and willingness to help create an inclusive event meant a great deal to our foundation and everyone involved.

Wheelchairs & WODs was more than a fundraiser or fitness event — it was proof that when a community comes together with compassion and purpose, real impact can happen.

This is only the beginning for The CapABLE Foundation, and we are excited for what’s ahead.

Together, we are building a stronger, more inclusive future.
